Affirmation: BEING PRESENT IN THE GREAT OUTDOORS!

How often do you go outdoors and stop to REALLY look at a tree or take in the scents around you?

Your rose or mountain scented hand soap should not be the only contact that you have with nature (lol). It is important to connect with nature as much as you can, AND have fun doing it!

Our lives are hectic and sometimes we just don’t have the time to get out there or we live in big cities where finding the great outdoors is a little more difficult. As with most things, it is very easy to find a number of reasons not to do something. It is important, though, that we give ourselves time to go outside. Take a walk to your neighborhood park, nature center or trail where you can take in the beauty of the flowers and trees, focus on the sounds around you, the rustling of the leaves or how the sun dances on the pavement and the different songs from the birds.

Bring a book or magazine to read, write in a journal, or have fun catching up with a friend in your backyard.

It is more therapeutic and restorative than you think and sometimes a walk around the block can bring new ideas or attitudes towards certain situations. And, it’s a great way to calm an overburdened mind.
